Reduced Fees

A number of part-time courses are offered at a 50% discount for selected individuals. Concessions are applied to course fees only and excludes examination and other costs. Depending on the personal circumstances students may be eligible for a reduced tuition fee. If a student qualifies they must provide evidence at the time of application (current letter or proof on date of birth) or a completed Authorisation form signed by the local benefits office.

Students aged 18 years or over and experiencing financial hardship may apply to the Hardship Fund for financial assistance. Assistance from the hardship fund is means tested and can only be provided once all other sources of funding have been exhausted. Forms will be available from mid-September 2023.

With more than 30,000 students joining each year, SWC offers a vast range of vocational, academic, and leisure courses for those seeking to pursue a career goal, professional development, or just for fun.

Part-time study has helped many adults gain valuable training to assist with promotion, retrain in a new career, and return to education.

SWC recognizes that life can be busy, which is why we offer flexible courses with different levels and durations to fit around work, family, and personal life. With a vast range of part-time subjects and levels on offer at our campuses in Dungannon Enniskillen and Omagh.

We are committed to aiding students in achieving their potential and offers various payment options to spread the cost of courses. Courses over £200 can be paid in instalments, with a 25% deposit required before commencement of the course and the required balance in three equal instalments.

Further, SWC offers a range of concessions. Students aged 60 or over at the time of enrolment can receive a 50% reduction for some vocational courses. Those receiving pension credit, working tax credit, income support (or dependent spouse/partner), income-based jobseekers’ allowance (or dependent spouse/partner), income-based employment support allowance, carers allowance, universal credit, and those aged 16 to 18 years of age on 1st July can also receive a 50% reduction.

Over 19 years of age on 1st July of the current academic year who are in full-time Further or Higher Education are also eligible.

Terms & Conditions

1. Anyone will be able to access the qualifications for the discounted price, whether or not they already have an existing qualification.

2. The List of discounted courses can be found at www.swc.ac.uk/parttime

3. Course materials, registration fees and examination fees where applicable are payable by the student

4. Courses run on demand and SWC reserves the right to cancel any course which doesn’t attract sufficient numbers to make the course viable

5. Students must be aged 16 over at the point of enrolment.

6. Students must be fully committed in undertaking the qualification and Maintain good attendance throughout the duration of the course – failure to attend class may result in the withdrawal of your enrolment from the course

7. Places are reserved for courses on a first come-first served basis provided applicants can demonstrate that they meet the course entry requirements stated on the website.

8. Applicants cannot avail of more than 2 courses at any one time.
