Step 2
The Improver class will take place from February until June and concentrates on Reading/Writing while further practice on Speaking/Listening also takes place. Students will achieve the OCN NI Entry Level 3 Award in Reading/Writing.
Students should have completed Step 1 or be at the same level, though there are no formal entry requirements.
Students can progress to the Pre-Intermediate class OCNNI Level 1 Award, which runs for the whole academic year.
This qualification is practical and encourages students to learn skills needed to enjoy holidays in the country of the target language. You learn the appropriate vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation at each of the levels, as well as some grammar. Topics that are covered are: Greetings; Home and Family; House/ Area where you live; Shopping; Food and Drink; Asking and Giving Directions; Work; Weather and Time; Accommodation.
