Each campus at South West College has in-house Hair and Beauty salons where hairdressing and beauty therapy students practise the latest techniques and treatments to develop their training skills. South West College Salon’s feature industry standard equipment to go alongside our industry experienced tutors to provide students with the best possible training, education and experience.
Availing of these facilities, the South West College Hair & Beauty department have created a suite of courses to suit students from every level. These courses can act as standalone qualifications or serve as 'add-ons' to pre-existing studies in the field of Hair and Beauty, meaning that their opportunities to suit students entering the industry for the first time and those with previous experience and training.
Each course of study in this curriculum area will enable you to develop a wide range of skills such as colouring, cutting and styling. You will have the opportunity to train in our state-of-the-art hair and barbering salons and to work in industry one day per week. As new styles come into fashion, our courses are adapted to ensure your skills are always up-to-date and industry relevant.

Each course of study in this curriculum area will provide access to highly qualified lecturers, well-equipped salons, training on professional product ranges, industry visits, guest speakers and experience in a realistic work environment. Learning is achieved through continual assessment and, where required, you will have the opportunity to complete Essential Skills.
