Funding Support for Students
This qualification is equivalent to 1 A ‘Level and is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction to the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information, alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in IT.
You will study 4 units of which 3 are mandatory and of these 3, 2 are externally assessed, and 1 additional module from the 2 options listed – Data Modelling, Website Development. These modules are subject to variation depending on local needs.
4 GCSE’s at grade C and above or equivalent.
External Assessment for 2 units and Internal assessment for 2 units.
Upon successful completion students may progress with sufficient UCAS points gained from this qualification and additional to:
Ulster University Foundation Degree in Science in Computing
Ulster University Foundation Degree in Science in Computing (HLA)
Possible employment opportunities may include Administrator, IT Trainer, Programmer, Technical Advisor, Technical support, Web Developer.
