South West College is celebrating NI Apprenticeship Week by showcasing the college’s partnerships with local employers. The College has recently collaborated with Moy Park to co-design and deliver a hands on, industry relevant apprenticeship.

Luke Marks hails from Moneymore and he studies the Level 3 Engineering GOLD programme at South West College’s Dungannon campus as an apprenticeship. Luke’s diligence and determination has seen him thrive as an apprentice and he has recently made the cut as a finalist for the Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Awards 2023.

Residents of Enniskillen and its surrounding areas are set to benefit from the introduction of a brand-new Engineering Manufacturing Skills Academy – Apprenticeship NI at the South West College, Enniskillen Technology and Skills Centre. Prospective apprentices will gain valuable on-the-job experience whilst studying part time for the industry-leading qualification.

The Royal Anniversary Trust today (Monday 23rd January) released ‘Accelerating towards Net Zero’, an ambitious roadmap for carbon reduction in the tertiary education sector.

Hydrogen experts from Norway, Greece and Germany joined forces in Dublin last month with the first face-to-face meeting of the HySkills project team. The project led by South West College is an enterprising Erasmus+ funded initiative to develop a new training programme that will ensure sufficient skills and knowledge is built up across industry to successfully implement the Hydrogen economy.
