Completion of this Apprenticeship will confer qualified status as a Pharmacy Technician within the Dispensing Pharmaceutical Industry. You will complete a knowledge based qualification - Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and a competence based qualification - Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills. Candidates need to be working in a suitable Pharmacy role for at least 14 hrs per week. You will be required to complete the Pharmacy specific ERR workbook provided by Skills for Health. You will be required to complete Essential Skills Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE Grade C or above in these subjects.
Course delivery will be mainly through weekly on-line classes. Students will attend campus as required approximately once every six weeks.
4 GCSEs, preferably to include: English, Mathematics and Science. Employment in a suitable Pharmacy role for at least 14 hrs per week.
The units in this qualification are assessed through an internally and externally quality-assured Portfolio of Evidence, made up of evidence gathered during the course of the learner’s work.
Successful completion of this Apprenticeship programme will meet the requirements for registration as a pharmacy technician.
