Overview

This Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Plastering qualification has been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary for progression to further training at Level 2. It is also designed to allow you as an employee to demonstrate your competence in an employment role within the sector.

Level 2 Plastering Traineeship/Apprentice NI You will learn the basic practical and knowledge skills necessary to gain employment and progress on to Level 2. These are covered in a range of practical and theory modules covering: Health and Safety in the workplace, Technical Information, Quantities and Communication, Knowledge of Construction Technology, Prepare Background Surfaces and Plaster Materials, Apply Plaster Materials to Internal Backgrounds, Produce Components from Moulds, Form Sand and Cement Screeds.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however, learners must have the potential to successfully gain the qualification. The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16 plus.

The course is assessed through completion of a practical task manual in the workshop, and theory-based assessment completed in class under exam conditions.

This Level 1 qualification will give you an introduction to Plastering. This means you will learn the hand skills and knowledge required for you to progress onto the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering.

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology. You will also study broader transferable skills in Employability and Personal and Social Development.
