Funding Support for Students
The Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Automotive Diagnostic Techniques enables learners to enhance their logical thinking skills. The course will enable you to enhance your diagnostic skills to a higher level. Advanced diagnostic skills require not only technical skills but the ability to carry out logical, structured thinking, investigation processes and resolution skills. This course will fulfil that requirement.
The course consists of three Units that are delivered over a two year part time period.
Unit 1 Advanced Diagnostic Techniques; this unit develops practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to identify, diagnose and rectify vehicle system faults.
Unit 2 Communicate and Liaise Effectively; this unit develops practical skills and knowledge required to accurately and effectively identify and meet customer needs in relation to their vehicle.
Unit 3 Provide Technical Support and Supervision; this unit develops practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to provide a range of technical and personal development support to colleagues.
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance studies, or equivalent. Learners must be currently working within the Motor Vehicle Industry. Learners without formal qualifications but with five years' experience may be accepted on the course by interview.
Assessment of this qualification is carried out by assignments including knowledge questions and tracking sheets to produce a portfolio of evidence.
This course gives Learners the opportunity to progress their career within the motor vehicle industry or progression to higher education courses such as IMIAL Level 5 Diploma in Automotive Management.
