Choosing where to study is an important decision, especially when you’re balancing work, life and career goals. For former student Lauren Stevenson, South West College felt like the natural choice. Living locally, she was already aware of the college, and enrolling in the Level 2 Nail Technology was the perfect starting point.
This was Lauren’s first experience studying at South West College, and it quickly became a positive turning point. While working full-time as a Retail Assistant with BPerfect Cosmetics, she wanted to expand her knowledge within the beauty industry and gain hands-on, industry-recognised skills. The evening class format made this possible, allowing her to continue working during the day while developing her qualifications in the evenings.
Throughout the course, Lauren gained the confidence and technical skills needed to perform gel extensions safely and hygienically, always keeping client wellbeing at the heart of her practice.
Reflecting on her experience, Lauren describes her time at South West College as extremely positive and is already planning to continue her studies to further develop her skills. She would confidently recommend the course to others, particularly to those who are working and looking for a flexible, professional route into the beauty industry.
