South West College are set to officially open their brand new industry standard motor vehicle workshop at Gortin Road, Omagh. The new facility will specialise in the delivery of Heavy Vehicle and Land Based Engineering courses.
The grand opening, will take place alongside the college’s official open event on 22 June from 6pm-8pm. Employers from industry are invited to attend the event to showcase their range of recruitment opportunities. Booking is essential.
Guests will be invited to look around the facilities and check out the latest industry technology and equipment that are now in place, thanks to the incredible industry links the department has established with Volvo, Scania, DAF, Mercedes, Renault and MAN, John Deere, Massy Ferguson, New Holland, Deutz and CASE.
The brand new workshop is aimed at providing heavy vehicle professionals with the skills they need to succeed in industry and will provide a variety of specialist heavy vehicle training and assessment packages.
You will have the opportunity to tour the facilities which include the latest Diagnostic and mechanical equipment available within the Motor Vehicle Industry. You can also view a range of practical demonstrations including EBS braking, active suspension systems, ADAS steering systems and engine horse power testing. You will have an opportunity to speak to our expert trainers about the specialist training on offer and discuss any of your specific training needs.
You will also get the opportunity to meet young people interested in a career in the motor vehicle industry, and who may have the potential to work within your organisation.
The event will be on-site and operate in accordance with strict COVID protocols.
