The Dungannon Campus of South West College will be the venue for on Friday 22nd November for the launch of the Manufacturing Support Programme. This initiative has been developed by South West College in conjunction with manufacturing companies from the Fermanagh Omagh and Mid Ulster District Council areas, to address skills shortages in the region.
The Manufacturing Support Programme provides local industry with an integrated support package which will assist employers in attracting and retaining the talent needed to continue to improve productivity and competitiveness. This initiative will focus on connecting the manufacturing industry with a range of Department for the Economy funded initiatives provided by South West College including:
Assured Skills Welding Academy
Bridge to Employment - Welding
Skills Focus
Apprenticeships
The event will also raise awareness, amongst potential career changers and the economically inactive of the employment and Apprenticeship opportunities available in the local manufacturing sector. The Assured Skills and Bridge to Employment programmes have been specifically designed to support upskilling of new entrants to the manufacturing industry through the provision of focused welding skills and employability training.
