Lights, Camera Action – Enniskillen man praises SWC study for launching his career in film industry
Jody Dorrian from Enniskillen, studied the Ulster University Access course back in 2018.
He had attempted to study other courses through university previously but due to his own personal circumstances for one reason or another at those times, he was unable to commit to them.
He didn’t feel quite ready to take on full time study and the Access course at South West College as a part time option suited him to take the plunge back into education.
He was pleased with the course and the practical skills he was able to learn in preparation for university study including Harvard referencing.
When Jody progressed on to study Film and Screen Production at Ulster University, he was ahead of the game when it came to his referencing knowledge which the first year degree students were learning during their first year of study.
Jody has since had a stellar career in film including working in a TV studio in Florida, USA. He has accolades such as being nominated for Royal TV Society Film Of The Year Award and set up his own production company with classmates from his degree course.
“This Access course absolutely leads to bigger and better things. If I can do it, anybody can!”
