Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice End-of-Year Show 2023
Staff, students, friends and family gathered recently for the highly anticipated End-of-Year Show for the Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice 2022-2023. Amidst excitement and relief, it celebrated the achievements of the year's students, whose incredible space and artwork left the visitors in awe. The exceptional quality of work on display exceeded all expectations, setting a new standard for excellence.
The exhibition showcased an impressive array of fine art specializations, including Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Print, Photography, Video, Model Making, Textiles Graphics, and Digital Illustration. Exploring a wide range of themes, the artwork delved into Connecting with one's higher self, Femininity and Motherhood, Forms and Shapes in architecture, Laughter Therapy, Mythical Creatures, War, and Human Rights.
Course Co-ordinator Patricia Fox said:
"Throughout the year, the artists and designers have grown individually, acquiring new skills and confidence across various art, design, and media disciplines. Their collaboration and support for one another's development have fostered an environment of encouragement and experimentation, rooted in thorough research."
Head of School Claire Fiddaman expressed gratitude to the dedication and hard work of the entire art and media creative arts team who made the exhibition possible and also to the catering staff for providing refreshments during the event and to technician Davin O'Kane for his invaluable assistance throughout the year. The team would like to extend thier gratitude to Ken Ramsey Picture Framing for their ongoing support and for announcing the most innovative piece in the show.
We wish all the students the very best in their future endeavours. Art is not solely about the results but the journey itself. However, the results that were on show were undeniably outstanding.
