Co. Tyrone mineral development and exploration company Dalradian Gold Ltd. (DGL) has launched a bursary programme for students of South West College.
The 'Dalradian Gold Bursaries' amounting to £5,000 will be offered to five students (£1000 each).
Dr Anne Monaghan, Director of Stakeholder Engagement said:
"We are delighted to be offering this opportunity to students from South West College. As we continue to advance our project, Dalradian is benefiting from the skilled and well-educated local workforce and we currently employ 81 people directly and indirectly . Ultimately, through investing in our students in the South West region, the whole community benefits."
"Tyrone is a great place to do business so we wanted to ensure that young people are afforded an opportunity to benefit from the project. Recently, eight students completed paid internships with us and the Dalradian Gold Bursaries is a natural progression and demonstrates our commitment to education and job creation."

Malachy McAleer, Director of South West College, welcomed the announcement saying:
"The College currently provides Higher Education to in excess of 1600 full-time and part-time students. It is the Colleges ambition to provide high quality, affordable, near-to-home education for aspiring graduates. A key element of this affordability is student financial support, and SWC is grateful for the commitment of Dalradian Gold which will ensure that annually five local students will benefit from £5,000 worth of bursaries."
"Further, this is just one aspect of student support provided by Dalradian Gold, who have granted several student internships. Also, Dalradian have linked SWC to Northern College in Ontario, Canada, with whom we are in the process of planning student exchanges and curriculum developments."
While applicants are welcome from all academic areas, students studying in fields aligned with Dalradian's core business areas will have a particular advantage. These include: Geology and associated disciplines, Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Administration, IT and Health and Safety.
