On Monday 20th March the HND Hair and Beauty Final Year students from South West College, Omagh held a Career’s Convention event at Dungannon campus for all of the Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Students. This event was organised to help the students explore the wide range of career options available to them within the Beauty Industry.
The beauty industry is one of the most dynamic and fast paced industries in the world carving out many different job opportunities. After finishing college it can be a daunting thought to deciding which career route suits you best. This event was designed to help educate and inspire students to find the right career for them.
There were many businesses in attendance at the event, including: Bellamianta Tan, KIKO Make Up, Salon Services, Dermalogica, Del Loughran and Cancer Choices. The event consisted of a series of demonstrations, talks and workshops in Make Up, Tanning, CV building and Social Media advice to improve your business.
The Level 3 beauty students remarked that “There was a lot of information provided about all the different possible career paths” and that they “learned more about the beauty industry that they didn’t know before.” Tutors that attended the event observed, “it was very well organised and a very informative day for the students to attend.”
The Careers Convention had some of the finest professionals at the Careers Convention to enable students to benefit from their experiences and receive advice to assist them on following their career inspirations.
